Lim at Trillanes. Sa paraan nila, pinamumunuan ng militar, walang koordinasyon sa civil society, na mas gusto kong idefine na People's Org and NGO's.. sablay tayo dyan.

Ang taongbayan ang mangunguna. Let's watch. =)

 Happy Birthday Konde. November 30

We call him Cords but he's Elmer

He's the big guy

With a big laugh

With big ideas

With humor

With sarcasm

With vision he would always share

Cords is an artist

a singer

a musician

a revolutionary

Nobody (but God) can tell how and why he died but it's good to remember how he lived.

Cords left the world in November 24, but his memories will always live - with his wife, children, colleagues

and the masses.

Check again

"Don't be too humble, you're not that great"

I TRIED to search on the web for the origin of this quote. I found an entry written by David Cohen that it was said to him by his mentor Archie Rand. The exact line of Rand is "Don't be humble, you are not good enough". Cohen said for 17 years, he lived by this quote. He is not sure though if Rand is the first one to say this, so I intentionally did not include a by-line.

This quote has been running on my head after a talk with this new girl in the office. She's been giving scientific comments on skin conditions and all that. I assumed she's a nurse or was a nursing student - and when I asked, oh well then she is. Good. An addition to the list of registered nurses working as a call center agent while waiting for an opportunity to work abroad.

I asked from what school she was and asked if by any chance she knows my friend Miriam.

[In the vernacular]

"No. But if we're from the same batch, she knows me."

I smiled. "Are you from the Student Council? Summa Cum Laude? Board topnotcher?"

"No." A small laugh. "Just ask her."

Well.. harmless talk? It is indeed a harmless talk and I may be subjective if I find conceit in her supposed humility.

It could have been a lot more simple if she answered the question. I would have admired her if it was something to be admired of.

I remember back when I was in high school and elementary, some of my friends would answer the slum book question "describe yourself" with "humble". I always thought of it as self-contradictory.
